Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Portugal on Tuesday for a two-day state visit aimed at carrying forward friendship and expanding cooperation between the two countries.

It is the first visit by a Chinese head of state to the European country in eight years.

葡萄牙（Portugal /ˈpɔːtjʊɡəl/ ）是位于欧洲西南部的共和制国家，国土面积92212平方公里。人均GDP2017年21136美元。葡萄牙语是葡萄牙1000多万人口的共同母语，也是世界第六大语言。

葡萄牙作为欧洲最古老的国家，拥有21处世界文化遗产，包括古迹、历史悠久的城市中心、景观和非物质遗产。

Portugal boasts mild climate, 3,000 hours of sunshine per year and 850km of splendid beaches bathed by the Atlantic Ocean.

Porto and the North offer appealing views of Douro River, while center of Portugal is known for its charming old towns and traditional cuisine. Lisbon, also the capital, provides an exquisite mixture of trendy modern life, long history and cultural treasures. Azores islands are well known for the lush green volcanoes with lakes and amazing ocean resources.

There are 22 classifications by UNESCO in Portugal, including monuments, landscapes and intangible heritage, a total of 15 World Heritage sites, and 6 Intangible Heritage: the Mediterranean diet, the Fado and Cante Alentejano, the Manufacture of Cowbells in Alentejo, the Black Pottery Handcraft of Bisalhães and the Art of Royal Falconry.

2018年，在“一带一路”的框架下，中葡双方实现了多行业的投资共赢；2018年10月1日，葡萄牙百年书店举办“中国日”活动，中葡民间联系与活动愈加频繁。
